Project Report
Magic Solutions, Inc. is on hold. Well, officially. I’m still editing the thing regardless, perhaps in an effort to pray I could salvage it from the pile known as “rejected forever.”
Narrow Birdcage? Funny thing about that story. It’s not writing by itself. It is writing with another story in the series. (Though both are stand alones so it is not so devastating when one fails). It’s writing with Four Seasons of Winter. Despite the fact that neither really relate, beyond a cameo of the main character in Narrow Birdcage in Four Seasons of Winter, they are still writing at the same time.
Driving me crazy. Narrow Birdcage was supposed to write linearly forwards to an outline. And then scenes occurred to me out of order, so it’s turning milestoneish. This might be because the story is layered both theme-wise and emotionally. That or I’m developing ADD.
If I succeed, from my research I’ll be the first Korean adoptee to publish a fantasy novel. That’s sad. And it will be the first adult historical fantasy novel set almost entirely in Korea. It’ll be one of the only historical fantasies set in India. And unlike others, there is not much in the way of white people, doing Tom Cruise things and calling people of color things like “exotic”. Also will be primarily narrated by an all woman cast. (’cause you want to get the 30% readership rather than capture the 70% readership? Why?)
I just wish it would write faster than it is. And I need a better title for the series.
